Do you need to send a medical notification?

For illnesses or accidents requiring medical attention but not hospital admission, you must notify VUMI® within 72 hours of the incident.

For emergencies requiring hospitalization, you must notify VUMI® immediately.

Notifications may be send in any of the following ways:

Services you must notify
All hospital admissions
Emergency transportation, repatriation and medical evacuation
Any major diagnostic procedures, such as MRIs, CT scans, gastroscopies, biopsies, etc.
Non-emergency medical benefits, such as psychological assistance after a traumatic event and physical therapy
Do you need to submit a claim for reimbursement?
To ensure that the process is effective and will run smoothly, and that response times are met, the following steps must be followed:
A completed claim form (available on MyVUMI™)
Detailed bills with proof of payment
Recent medical history or any other pertinent medical information. In addition, a copy of prescriptions, if applicable
For non-medical expenses, a copy of airline tickets, travel documents and other relevant documentation
For baggage delay benefits, submit the original Property Irregularity Report from the carrier
In case of an accident, all information related to the event and its surrounding circumstances, including, but not limited, to accident reports, police reports or other documents issued by the relevant authorities or third parties involved
